Okay, what is going on?
I don't update in a couple of months and you guys are already talking about prom dresses?!
Prom. Prom. Prom.
This is a BIG deal, you realize that, right?
This is the pinnacle of the rest of your lives?
Yeah, yeah, you're moving on to bigger and better things. You're slaving over college applications. You're accepting invitations. But I'm not here for that. I'm here for your BIGGEST problem.
You've got about a week, and you still haven't bought your dress.
Which is why I have drafted (cue cheesy fanfare)
(or guidelines, for those who don't like to be told what they can and cannot do ---insert annoyed eye roll here---)
Rule/Guideline 1: Think about what you want. Do you want a long or short dress? Do you want something unique? Do you want to match with your date?
(btdubbs, matching with your date is the equivalent of informing the Taliban of the President's exact location. Not a good idea.)
Rule/Guideline 2: What colors look best on your skin tone? Make a list and pick 3 you like best. If you have to, enlist the help of your mother dearest.
Rule/Guideline 3: NO NO NO extra skin. If your back is out, make sure it's tasteful. Nix the whole "look at my belly button" act for prom or actually, anywhere. We all know you were born; we don't need to see living proof.
Rule/Guideline 4: Do not Bedazzle your dress. If you blind your date with an array of unnecessary rhinestones and gems, he will not be able to dance as well as he normally would.
Rule/Guideline 5: Don't Bedazzle yourself. Not too many accessories, please. Your dress is the main course.
Rule/Guideline 6: You don't have to shop overseas. Umi2 is more formal than Umi, so you can browse there for some selections.
Rule 7(and this is not a guideline--FOLLOW IT): Buy something YOU like. You won't be happy or look as good in something you don't like.
Ta ta for now,
